Coding and I.C.T.

There is no question about the importance of I.C.T skills in the modern world. We must therefore prepare children in the best possible way when it comes to the use of I.C.T equipment such as computers and other programmable machines. Whilst it is very common for children in today’s world to have access to tablets and smartphone technologies within the early years, they rarely practice essential skills such as typing and coding. For Years 1 and 2 the children have many opportunities to incorporate the use of I.C.T. into their daily learning. Learning to navigate and use search engines eectively to discover facts on a new topic area or using a word processor to produce a book or information poster are examples of how we use I.C.T. to support Literacy.
